Awarding of the Dionýz Štúr award

On the 120th anniversary of the birth of the prominent Slovak geologist of Russian origin, founder and first director of the Dionýz Štúr State Geological Institute (hereinafter referred to as ŠGÚDŠ) Dimitrij Andrusov, and on the occasion of the 190th anniversary of the birth of the most important Slovak geologist of the 19th century, Dionýz Štúr, the Dionýz Štúr Award and medals were ceremonially presented ŠGÚDS. Our faculty, represented by the dean prof. Ing. Michal Cehlar, PhD.

The ceremony took place on November 7, 2017 in the premises of the ŠGÚDŠ in Bratislava. The general director of ŠGÚDŠ awarded the award to the laureate on the proposal of the Scientific Council of ŠGÚDŠ for a significant contribution to scientific knowledge in the field of geology. The event was held under the auspices of the Minister of the Environment of the SR Ing. László Sólymos.
