Appreciation of the employees of the department of geo and mountain tourism FBERG

On November 29-30, 2017, the 9th edition of the ITC 17 International Congress took place under the auspices of the Center for Applied Tourism Research (IPLeiria) in Peniche (Portugal). The main theme of the congress was the image and sustainability of tourism destinations. Out of over 500 authors from all over the world and more than 130 contributions, there was a contribution by the authors: Csaba Sidor, Branislav Kršák and Ľubomír Štrba entitled: Building up basic tourism geo content for destination business intelligence via Open Street Map dump files evaluated by the scientific commission of the congress as the best and awarded with a prize BEST PAPER. In addition, the Department of Geo and Mountain Tourism as well as the Faculty of BERG and the Technical University of Košice were presented with two other contributions, thanks to which geotourism was informally recognized by the participants as „the greatest great grand ancestor of the tourism industry covering the whole scope of the industry“.
