Engineering Surveying and Real Estate Cadastre

The study programme educates professionals required for fulfilling tasks of the state, particularly in the sectors of geodesy, cartography and cadastre, construction, and industry. The core knowledge of the Engineering Geodesy and Real Estate Cadastre study programme is acquired by students through a set of courses forming the theoretical, professional, and technical–applied foundation of the studies. The theoretical foundation of graduates is based on exact and natural sciences, namely mathematics and physics. The formation of the professional profile is supported by theoretical professional disciplines such as global geodesy, space geodesy, and mathematical cartography. The focus of the programme lies in mastering technical–applied disciplines, including engineering geodesy, photogrammetry, remote sensing of the Earth, land consolidation, underground geodesy, and industrial geodesy. The scope of knowledge and skills acquired builds smoothly upon the basic knowledge gained during the first cycle of study. Field training plays a significant role, particularly field courses in underground geodesy and engineering geodesy. Emphasis is placed on developing professional independence and decisiveness, based on a methodological approach and respect for correct conceptual solutions. A crucial role is played by advanced mastery of computing technologies, including knowledge of computational, testing, and evaluation software, with extensive use of GIS and CAD systems (GIS Design and Implementation). The group of core subjects is suitably complemented and the graduate’s profile broadened (humanized) by courses in management (Management of Geodetic Activities), legislation and law, as well as by the block-taught course Social Sciences II, in which students may choose from several thematic areas.
