Ulysseus Seed Fund Call for Teachers V
Dear Colleagues,
Following your active participation in previous educational activities organized by the Department of International Relations and Mobility of TUKE (DIRM), we would like to inform you about an upcoming series of professional events designed for TUKE academic staff. Their aim is to support the development of innovative approaches to teaching specialized courses in English.
As you may already know, TUKE is currently accepting applications for the Ulysseus Seed Fund for Teachers call, which focuses on funding collaborative online international learning projects. Through this call, you can obtain financial support of up to EUR 2,500 to prepare and enrich your course with elements of the COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) methodology in cooperation with partners from the Ulysseus Alliance.
In this context, DIRM has prepared a series of three events that will help you to:
- gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles and benefits of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL),
- become familiar with the latest trends and developments in COIL implementation, including examples of good practice,
- prepare a high-quality project proposal and successfully apply for the Ulysseus Seed Fund for Teachers call (applications open until 30 September 2026),
- strengthen your competences for teaching specialized courses in English.
The events will take place during June, September, and October. They are designed to build upon one another thematically; however, participation in all three events is not required. You may register for each event separately according to your interests.
We are pleased to introduce the first event in this upcoming series.
Together with internationally recognized COIL expert Professor Robert O’Dowd, we cordially invite you to the online event “Collaborate, Connect, Co-Teach – Exploring COIL”, which will present the latest trends and experiences in collaborative international online learning.
The event is also open to academic staff from partner universities within the Ulysseus Alliance. This will provide you with a unique opportunity to learn from colleagues across various European universities, discuss innovative teaching approaches, and establish contacts with potential partners for future collaboration in your courses. The working language of the event is English.
