The highlight of our alliance this year will be the Ulysseus Košice Week, a week of Ulysseus events organized at TUKE from 20 to 24 October 2025.

Košice Week will bring a diverse package of events for different target groups – researchers, teachers, higher education and secondary school students, local and international partners, and key stakeholders. We would like to summarize the information about the planned events and kindly ask you to disseminate them within your faculties and workplaces.

What are we preparing?

For researchers, teachers, and other staff from Ulysseus partner universities – TUKE staff are most welcome to join these events:

  1. Two professional events for researchers:
    • Ulysseus Research and Innovation Conference – Navigating Pathways: Digital Transformation of Industry (20 October) will bring expert lectures and technical sessions on the digital transformation of industry.
    • Connecting R&I for Digital Transformation (21 October) will focus on presenting the TUKE ecosystem for digital transformation, supporting project ideas, and fostering connections between researchers and professionals in this field.
  2. Open event: Inclusion in Action: Bridging Academia and Society through Ulysseus (24 October) will address inclusion, diversity, gender equality, and support for students and academics from Ukraine. The event will showcase Ulysseus achievements in these areas and promote experience sharing and open dialogue.
  3. Creative Playgrounds will connect art, science, and technology through digital art, interactivity, and interdisciplinary collaboration:
    • Art-Sci Sessions – a full-day open event (23 October).
    • Art-Sci Forms – a week-long exhibition in the TUKE Campus Gallery.
      (Event webpage under preparation.)
  4. Workshop: Beyond Borders – Equipping Educators for a Globally Connected Campus (21–23 October) is intended for teachers interested in the internationalization of education. It will develop intercultural competences, practical strategies for motivating teaching, and provide tools and methods for preparing COIL courses.
  5. Workshop: Peace Engineering: Building Resilient Future (21 October) will discuss the role of peace engineering in times of conflict and explore opportunities for joint research, education, and social engagement, making use of the synergies of Ulysseus and the regional context of Eastern Slovakia and Western Ukraine.
    (Event webpage under preparation.)
  6. Workshop: Setting Standards for Enhancing Universities' Reputation and Attractiveness Across Ulysseus (24 October), designed for researchers and staff managing research, will support knowledge exchange and strategic dialogue between Ulysseus partner institutions on research human resources management, talent attraction, and research assessment strategies.
  7. Ulysseus Summit 2025 will be the annual project summit presenting the achievements of the alliance so far and its plans for the future. The summit is intended not only for the Ulysseus TUKE project team members, but also for colleagues interested in learning more about the developments within our alliance.

For other target groups:

  1. For secondary school students, we are preparing Ulysseus European University – A New Way to Experience University Life, where we will present our European University and officially launch the online magazine for young researchers UYES (Ulysseus Young Explorers in Science).
  2. Students united in the Ulysseus Student Association (UlySA) will participate in the UlySA Bootcamp, which will offer workshops on European identity, democracy, and training in selected soft skills.

How to learn more and register?

  • The working language of all events will be English.
  • Registration is required for all events due to limited capacity. Each event has its own registration link available on the event’s webpage.
  • Detailed information about each event, together with links to their websites, can be found on the main webpage of Ulysseus Košice Week ulysseus.eu/events/ulysseus-kosice-week/ or in the summary document ulysseus-kosice-week-tuke-info.pdf.

We are looking forward to your participation and the participation of your colleagues at the events of Ulysseus Košice Week.
