This year, the Institute of Geodesy, Cartography and GIS at the Faculty of BERG, Technical University of Košice welcomed fourth- and fifth-year secondary school students from Andrej Kmeť Grammar School in Banská Štiavnica as part of MiniErasmus “Check Out BERG!” – “Experience a Day in the Life of a University Student”. We began by introducing the Technical University of Košice and the Faculty of BERG, highlighting study opportunities and the laboratory facilities at our institute. The programme also included a practical demonstration of laser scanning and a special introduction to the faculty’s mining traditions. Colleagues from the Department of Renewable Energy Sources at the Institute of Earth Resources delivered a lecture on renewable resources, followed by a mineral identification competition.

We hope the visit inspired the students and that the Faculty of BERG at TUKE will be their first choice when applying for university for the 2027/2028 academic year. Thank you!
