International Research at FBERG Is Moving Forward!

Last week, we welcomed the project partners of the international MineCuON project (Mining Pre-Concentration System for Copper Ores Based on XRT and XRF Sensors) to our faculty.

During the meeting, we discussed the current status of the project and the progress achieved so far, and introduced our partners to our state-of-the-art research laboratories and infrastructure.

What’s new in the MineCuON project?

Moving into the pilot phase: Research activities have successfully progressed to the pilot phase.

Environmental dimension: Thanks to cooperation with our partner KGHM Metraco S.A., the scope of the project is being expanded to include the utilization of waste rock.

Promising results: The results achieved so far meet the specifications required for the planned copper ore pre-concentration system using XRT and XRF sensors.

We would like to thank all our expert partners and suppliers – KGHM, Boliden, DIAMO, TRATEC, Comex Group, Łukasiewicz, GIG, and others – for their excellent cooperation and enthusiasm as we move forward into the next stages of the project!
