From 7 to 9 October 2026, master’s students from the Institute of Geography, Cartography and Geographic Information Systems (ÚGKaGIS), FBERG, TUKE, took part in the international drone piloting competition V4UAV Challenge 2026 in Międzybrodzie Bialskie, Poland.
Our institute was represented by two teams: Petra Studeničová, Michal Bartko and Adam Krišš; and Richard Jasovský, Roland Irányi and Timotej Szűcs. Both teams competed under the guidance of our colleague Ing. Ľubomír Kseňak, PhD. Facing strong competition from 16 teams, they achieved excellent results, finishing in 6th and 7th place!
Over the three days, the students took part in training sessions and competitive events focused on UAV control, flight precision, manoeuvring and FPV flying. The programme also included a specialist seminar on the use of UAVs in education and student research.
The event was organised by the University of the National Education Commission, Krakow, in cooperation with partner universities and with the support of the International Visegrad Fund.
We thank our students for successfully representing the institute, faculty and university!
