Study at FBERG

The faculty offers accredited study programs at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees of higher education. It is possible to study in an internal or external form, in a face-to-face, distance learning, or combined method with the language of instruction being Slovak or English.

  • Bachelor studies as the first level of higher education last at least three or four years (in the case of external studies). It is aimed at acquiring basic professional knowledge in individual fields, gaining an overview of the current state of development of the studied field in the world, and acquiring basic practical skills. The study designed in this way will enable bachelor's degree graduates to cope with the increasing demands of scientific, technical, economic and artistic development today, and their abilities significantly exceed general technical and IT literacy.
  • Engineering and master's studies as the second level of higher education have a standard length of study of two years, the total length of study is at least five years. The basic condition for continuing to the second degree is the completion of the first degree. Graduates of the second degree of higher education can analyze, design and construct technical systems, carry out research with a high degree of creativity and independence, and are able to apply themselves in practice without problems or continue their education in the 3rd degree of study. They know how to present their own technical, economic and artistic solutions to problems in research, development, design and construction of systems and their applications and creatively apply the acquired knowledge in practice.
  • Doctoral studies as the third level of higher education last at least three years in the internal form and four years in the external form. A basic condition for continuing to the PhD. study is the completion of the second level of university studies.
    A graduate of the 3rd level of education will acquire the theoretical and practical prerequisites and skills for independent, creative scientific and research work in the studied field. He masters the scientific methods of research and development in his field of specialization. He is able to solve the most demanding scientific and research tasks of a theoretical nature with a focus on future practical applications. It will find application in scientific research, development and design organizations when solving complex design and analysis problems in high-tech applications, or as an employee of universities, research institutes or the Academy of Sciences.

The educational process includes various forms of teaching such as lectures, seminars, exercises, laboratory work, projects, practical exercises, consultations. The standard student load is expressed by the number of credits - 60 credits per academic year and 30 credits per semester. The TUKE credit system is compatible with the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), enabling student mobility within European educational programs.
